I wrote this as a gift quite a while ago for Frakcancer. It's one of my favourite a/r fics still.

Bill was happy when they both lingered at the table. They'd finished their meal and their last few topics of conversation had little to do with the accord they were negotiating.

"Thank you for meeting me here instead of the restaurant your aide originally booked, Admiral."

"That's perfectly fine, Madam Ambassador. It wouldn't have been a very comfortable lunch meeting with only one of us eating."

Laura Roslin gave him one of those smiles. The kind that made him indulge in thoughts of more intimate relations between their countries.

"Besides, the food here is superb," he continued. "You could easily convert me to the kosher lifestyle."

She tucked a piece of wayward hair back beneath her headscarf. It was black; a sign of respect for her late husband, Richard.

"There would be little point, Admiral, if you didn't believe in the reason for keeping kosher. When we started these negotiations, you told me that you were an atheist."

Her religious convictions meant that she would only have sex within marriage. She would only marry a fellow Orthodox Jew.

"You're the diplomat, Laura. Convince me."

"What possible reason would you have to convert?"

"You," he murmured. "You could make me believe."
