There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about that afternoon. It was life changing for me and although I let Trask go there was no way in hell I'd forget what he had done so easily.
However letting him live wasn't the only thing I lost. I lost Charles my first love however the feelings weren't mutual until he had already lost me to Eric. Eric...
I rather not think of him... too much pain is in the memory of him.
Any how I left DC and now I sit in a little coffee shop in the small towns of Kansas. I try not to stay in one spot too much, being on the move keeps my mind off a lot of things...
"Hello, is this seat taken?"
I look up to see that my eyes have fallen on a graceful individual with brown locks of curly hair and the most lavishly hazel eyes I have ever seen. I didn't want to be bothered but I didn't want to be rude either plus he ruined my train of thought.
"No I'm afraid it isn't." At that note he sits and stares at me.
"Sorry for staring it's a bit rude of me. But your beauty is just impossible to keep my eyes off."
I laugh. "Not all things are as simple as they seem, for looks can be quite deceiving."
"Whatever do you mean, missus..."?
"Mystique, my name is Mystique."
"Well Mystique nice to meet your acquaintance, my name is O'Brian, Andrew O'Brian."
I smiled. "Nice to meet you too, however I need to go."
I stand to leave and I can feel his gaze upon me and despite the fact he was still trying to talk to me, I ran to my car and drove off.
I head in the direction my car was facing and after an hour of driving I find this side road and turn down it. I sat there and cried. Never in my life have I been approached by a fine gentlemen such as Charles or Eric and felt entirely like a girl with a high school crush. It brought tears to my eyes and pain to my heart.
I get out of my car to get some fresh air and take a small walk. The breeze feels so relaxing against my skin that I let my guard down and ooh boy does it feel good not to have to concentrate so hard.
Five minutes pass and on my way back to my car, I hear a car approaching and swear under my breath. I pick up my pace and quickly get back into disguise. Just as I reach the side road a car is passing by me.
It comes to a stop and I catch my breath. And guess who recedes from the back seat. Oh Mr. Andrew O'Brian.
"Why, Hello again. Are you lost?"
I was silent for a minute. "No, I was just taking a breather, I'll be going."
"How about you come with me and have a cup of tea. My house is just up the way."
"Um... I'm not so..."
"I insist, I won't take no for an answer."
"I suppose I'll follow you."
He walks over to the driver's door of my car and opens it for me. I cautiously walk over and return a smile as to say thanks. He shuts my door and returns to his car.
I think to myself, ooh what have I gotten myself into!
As I follow him up the road, my mouth dropped and my eyes widen. My gaze has befallen the beauty of his house!
His chauffeur exits the car and helps him out. He comes to my car and all I could do was sit there wide eye while he stared at me.
Oh those eyes...those gazing eyes ….so penetrating to the soul... those EYES...
