It's In Your Eyes
If I owned Harry Potter then we would never have had to endure our world being coloured in Lavender. All of these characters belong to JK, I am just playing with them. Don't sue me. If you do I can't go to Paris next year. First fan fic so please be nice. Title taken from the Within Temptation song " Memories "

Hermione sighed in irritation. A loose strand of her chocolate coloured hair had persisted to fall over her eye for the last five minutes or so. Once again she tucked it behind her ear and allowed her eyes to glance up from the potions book she was currently reading. The dancing flames from the fire caught her eye. She had always found the glow emitted from the fire to be that of a comfort. Reluctantly, her eyes shifted away from the fire and fell on the figure in the armchair next to it. The figure was asleep, for now at least. His red hair reminded Hermione of the fires comforting glow. Ron looked so relaxed, more so than he had done in weeks. His freckle covered face reflected this well, as did his deep breathing. Hermione was happy enough to just sit and watch him. She watched his chest rise and fall. She watched his eyes flicker every now and then, but never open. She had no idea how long she had sat and watched him. Ever since his split with Lavender the two had grown closer and Hermione was sure there was some sort of chemistry between them. Other people seemed to think so as well, especially Lavender. She had been very distant with Hermione since she and Ron had split. This did not bother Hermione. After all, Ron could do better than Lavender, but Hermione didn't think she was better than Lavender. Not in terms of looks anyway. Maybe Ron didn't return those feelings for her … no she was sure he did. Maybe it wasn't her looks that made Ron like her. Hermione knew his looks weren't the only reason she was attracted to Ron, although he was attractive .. VERY attractive. He made Hermione laugh, he was a loyal friend, a brave person and next to Harry and Ginny, the only person she knew she could trust with everything. Plus she loved his family. The Burrow was like a second home to her. She knew she could depend on Ron. Yes those were the reasons she liked him. Hermione was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts by a bunch of giggling third years. Hermione was about to tell them off when she noticed Ron begin to stir. His eyes slowly opened, and they caught Hermione's. His eyes were such a lovely shade of blue. They were unique, like him. Once again Hermione felt she was not worthy of him. Her own plain brown eyes did not seem worthy of looking into such beautiful eyes. Yet they were. As Ron smiled at Hermione, his eyes also smiled at her. Like the fire they were a comfort to her. Perhaps this was another reason she liked Ron. He had the power to make her feel so relaxed. She returned his smile and closed over her potions book. After all, she could always study later and Hermione felt she deserved the break.
