This story is based on the novel Safe Haven by Nicolas Sparks. It will not be completely the same, but some parts will be similar. I have no rights over those parts, but this story version is mine.

She had a daily routine: work, jog, sleep, repeat.

That's how she lived. Like a shark, she kept moving because movement was life. You didn't relax, let your guard down, you moved and you stayed alive.

At the moment she was one phase 1 of her everyday routine. Her chestnut brown waves bounced from shoulder to shoulder as she gracefully made her way around the restaurant. Taking orders and delivering meals to the few customers there were today. Usually, it was busy but today it was an easy day. When temperatures rise to 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) and over, people tend to not go to the only place without air conditioning. Just as she was clearing the plates from table number three, her boss called out.

"Spencer!" Her boss Aria called out to her. Spencer turned, plates in hand, and walked over to see what she wanted.

Aria Montgomery was the boss and owner of the Applewood Grill in Rosewood, Pennsylvania.

"Yes?" Spencer asks putting the dirty dishes in the washer.

Instead of answering back, Aria just rips off Spencer's apron. "Spencer you've been here since seven this morning, it's almost five now. Hanna will be here soon enough, just go explore a bit." Aria commands.

"But I'm fine with working." Spencer argues.

"Hush, and get moving." Aria shoos and ushers Spencer towards the kitchen to get her things. Spencer mumbles under her breath while grabbing her purse. Aria might be only about 5'2'', but Spencer knew there was no use arguing any further with the brunette. She was just as stubborn as Spencer herself! She was still grumbling along towards the door when Caleb the cook came by.

"Aria's making you leave early huh?" Caleb asks, already picking up the answer from her reactions.

"Yeah, she wants me to "explore the town"." Spencer replies sullenly. It wasn't as she was a workaholic. Well she kind of was, but that wasn't just it. She wanted and needed all the money she could scrounge up. She had to buy food and pay rent on her cottage. Granted that wasn't a lot, but she was only a waitress.

"Well huh think on the bright side. She isn't that wrong, you did only get here what three months ago? Rosewood's small, but I'm sure you'll find something new." Caleb tries to enlighten the good possibilities of going around town to Spencer. Shaking her head she leaves him with a soft 'see ya' and exits. When she did things like that people thought she was mysterious, which she was. It was more of a needed trait though more than just something she was born with. She had to be mysterious. She had to keep things to herself. She just had to.

*** I know it was short, but I wanted to end it here. I hope you like it so far. -Nikki xoxo
