"I'm not gay," he says, defending himself.

"Yes, you are."

"No. No, I'm not."

"Of course you are, don't be stupid. In the whole time I've known you, when have you shown the slightest interest in a girl?"

"Penny in the air," Mels says aloud while playing with the Tardis toy.

"I've known you for about, what, ten years? I've seen you practically everyday. Name one girl you paid the slightest bit of attention to?" Amy questions him. Rory and Amy look at each other again and then Rory just bolts out of the room.

He didn't like what was going on in there. When he thinks about how he'll confess to Amy his feelings for her, he didn't think it would go like that. He never imagined that Mels would be a part of it too.

For most of his life, it has always been Amy. He didn't like anybody else because Amy was all he really wanted to like. When he was about to open the door Amy's voice got louder.

"Rory, wait!" she shouted, he was less than five feet away from her now. The bubbly Scottish girl threw herself at him after she stepped on the last step of the stairs. She was out of breath even though it wasn't a long staircase and she barely ran.

Amy took a while to take in some air, so she just stayed in him arms, breathing heavily to his shirt. He didn't know what to do and he liked holding her, so Rory just looked at her and waited for her to catch a breath.

"Why didn't you tell me?" she starts, still facing his chest. "Why didn't you tell me, ever?"

"I, uhh.. you.. but.." it was no use, he couldn't talk or think properly. But Amy doesn't look up or says anything else. She was still waiting for the answer. It was no use staying silent, so he planted his feet firmly on the ground and enclosed Amy in his arms. She gasped a little but now her face is buried in his shirt.

"If I had told you before, at high school maybe, odds are I won't be embracing you right now at this very moment because you could have easily pushed me away. We could have stopped being friends," he broke the embrace, held her shoulders and pushed her away gently. "You could stick with Mels and get some other guy friend."

Amy was looking at him now. A tear suddenly runs down her cheek and Rory panics inside. When the next tear came, he wiped it away with his thumb. When he looked into her eyes, Rory didn't expect to see a bit of anger in them.

"I wouldn't do that," she says, almost as a whisper. "I wouldn't do that because you are Rory Williams. The boy who I have played all the childish games with when we were kids. The teenager who stuck with me and even Mels in all the crazy situations." She stopped but he knew she wasn't finished.

"You were the first guy to ever do that. The thing you did with the tear and the wiping? Yeah," she was smiling now, a bit of anger still lingered in her eyes though. "I wouldn't do that to you, push you away. You have become such a huge part of my life and you can never just go away. I won't let you."

Her arms swung up to hug him by the neck, Rory hugs her for his own support and Amy lifts up her feet. Giggles escaped her mouth as she lands her feet on the floor once more.

They look at each other and smile. "Mels is still inside my room. Oh my God, I forgot!" Amy breaks into a short laugh.

"You better go to her now. And you should get some rest," Rory tells her, casually patting her shoulder. "I better get going, it's getting pretty late."

His hand reaches the door but then Amy's hand is on his cheek. "Rory Williams... I wonder how long you've waited for me to know how you really feel."
