i finallly got my clique books back from my cousin. so, i'm now currently rereading the series. for the thousandth time. this came to me in the first book, after Todd told Claire he was having his "party" with his raisin-friends.

Todd never thought he'd lose his best friend when he moved to Westchester (she was coming with him, for crying out loud). But that just happened, too.
He doesn't know when she started calling Layne or IM-ing Massie instead of hiding in his room when things got bad. Or when he became "Claire's annoying little brother, what's-his-name" instead of "Claire's best friend, Todd." Like everything else, that just happened
