A Friend When You Need One

Derek, Burger, and Ash were in the garage, dancing to the Jonas Brothers, when a very upset-looking Tripp stormed in to the room and went to the couch. He said, "Fuck!", as he sat down. Derek said,

"What's wrong, kid?" Tripp said,"Nothing." Burger said as Tripp started to tear up, "Come on. We know something's wrong." And at that moment, Tripp started to cry. Ash paused the music and looked

at his bandmate, who was obviously upset about something. He said, "What's wrong, Tripp?" Tripp said,crying, "Bryce is my problem!"Burger said, "What did he do?" Tripp said, "We were in science, and

my project failed, so Bryce called me a loser and poured water on my head, and worst of all, Gia laughed at me and broke up with me when I yelled at Bryce!"

Ash suddenly thought about when Tripp had confronted him when he was upset with Derek calling him an idiot, and the adult sat down on the couch by Tripp. Ash said as Tripp buried his face in the

couch,still sobbing. "So Gia broke up with you because you yelled at Bryce?" Tripp said, taking his face off the couch, " I'm fucking pissed off about it!I mean, I even started crying in class, it was

so bad!And I know crying is for babies, but I just can't help it." Ash said, "Crying isn't that bad, Tripp. Everyone does it. Me, Derek, Burger, and now you." Tripp said, "So it's normal for teens to cry?" Ash

said, "Yeah. And, don't listen to Gia. She's not always right." Tripp said, his tears subsiding, "She's not?" Ash said, " may be popular,but she's mean, and stupid to dump anyone as nice and smart

as ,nice." Tripp laughed and said," Thanks, Ash. You're the best." He hugged Ash, and Ash said, "Anything for my friend." They hugged tighter, and at that point in his life, Ash felt better about

himself.

Maybe he wasn't as dumb as everyone thought.

The next day at school, Gia went up to Tripp and said, "Listen,I'm sorry about you wanna,maybe,get back together?" Tripp said," Thanks,but I'm gonna take a break from girls for a while.

In a month,if you still want to date,then I'm available." Gia said,",Tripp."She walked up to Bryce and went away with would be upset,but this time,he didn't ,he was confident.
