The Fool
Disclaimer: I own nobody but Luciana, the rest belong to the respective companies and creators.
Note: This is a one shot part of a series I'm writing based on the song The Fool by Leann Womack, if you enjoy this then review and I'll put up the main story when I can.
It was a cool fall day when Luciana saw a redhead sit down at a table in the Leaky Cauldron, she was curious to see if it was who she was thinking it was, so she made her way over and made sure that it really was Lily before she asked to sit down.
"You probably don't know me, but I know who you are," Luciana said looking at Lily with a slight sadness in her eyes, "we were at Hogwarts together and I'm not sure if Severus ever talked to you about me, but I'm the one he's engaged to, my name is Luciana Potter, actually I'm also James's sister not that he'll claim me."
Lily smiled and congratulated the other woman, who was actually her future sister-in-law, but she didn't fail to notice the sad demeanor of the soon to be bride. Something was wrong, and it was about to come out some how and she figured it would be better to sit and get it all out at once than to keep something like this dragging on and on for who knows how long.
Luciana then asked her if she had time to have a drink with her to discuss something that had been on her mind for a while that sounded crazy, but had kept happening over and over. Apparently every night in his sleep, Severus would call out Lily's name, even though Luciana was the one sharing his bed and planning on sharing the rest of her life with him.
Lily was just awed, she knew that Severus had had a crush on her since they were children, but she never imagined that it went as far as this. She listened as Luciana explained that she knew that love was fragile and was trying her hardest to make it work because Lily's rejection of him, but it wasn't easy to keep on trying to love someone who wouldn't let go of parts of his past to make the future work.
Luciana didn't quite believe that she had just blurted out her problems to the one woman that was partially responsible for her unhappiness but she knew that it wasn't Lily's fault that Severus couldn't get over her.
"I've got to go, but I do want to tell you one thing," Luciana said as she finished her drink and looked at her watch, "I didn't come over here to put you down or blame you for not loving him but I've seen you with James and it's obvious that you're meant to be with him. It's just the fact that you still hold Severus' heart in your hand and its causing mine to break. You see, I'm the fool in love with the fool, that's still in love with you." And with that Luciana got up and walked out of the Leaky Cauldron with everything she needed to say said.
