And so this is my first attempt at uploading fanfiction... so, anything anyone has to say would be appreciated.

Disclaimer: I don't own Code Geass. I'd be cool if I did but, I digress.

Oh, and I wrote this right after watching the final episode of Code Geass R2. How epic was that?!

Dear Lelouch,

You're a dirty liar, you know? And you betrayed us. You left us with no choice but to side with Britannia. You made us fight you. But that was the plan in the end, wasn't it. In the end, you got your way. Just like you always do.

I'm not proud of that fight, the final one. Damocles, all of that. F.L.E.I.J.A... None of us wanted that many people to die. Tamaki still curses your name, you know. Still calls you his best buddy. Well, his ex-best buddy. Nobody will ever forget Lelouch vi Britannia. But nobody remembers Lelouch Lamperouge. I guess that's the tragedy.

Rivalz and Milly remember, the old you, that is. Being the student council and having fun together. I suppose Nina does too. I don't think she will ever forgive you, but the others probably have. But even if we forgive you, we will never understand why you did what you did.

Even so, I think I can guess. At least now, with everyone focused on reconstruction and holding onto their hate for you, they're too busy to go around fighting each other. It's not forced peace, like so many have tried to push on us before. It's a global promise to rebuild our countries after what you did to them.

You were a liar until the very end. But you did it for this, the world we all live in now. Where we all work together to build a brighter future.

Nunnally's doing fine as our new Empress. Together, with the other leaders like Kaguya and Tianzi she's working to create the world she envisioned. Oh, she's got "Zero" too. I think I could guess who's behind the mask now.

So now I guess I've got nothing else to stall with. You were a good leader for us Lelouch. Your betrayal was necessary for the world to move forward. So, even if the rest of the world can't, I forgive you. I forgive you for everything you've done.

And maybe, if the rest of the world can learn to forgive yet not forget, this golden age will last forever. That's what you wanted. And I know you always get what you want.

So wherever you are now, whatever afterlife you ended up in, know that the world is doing fine. It's just how you wanted it, right?

None of us will ever forget you. But in time, perhaps the others will forgive you too. I hope they will.

Love, Kallen.
