Summary: Christmas Miracle for A Very Blam Holiday Season

"They're closing down the airport until the storm rolls out tomorrow… Tomorrow if we're lucky," Blaine said sadly, looking out the window at the driving snow.

There was a pause on the other end of line until Sam replied, "God, B, I'm sorry. No more shoots that keep me away till Christmas Eve. I promise. I want to be home with you guys so bad."

Blaine smiled softly across the kitchen at their eight-month-old daughter, who was happily smashing Cheerios on her high chair tray. "Molly's too young to know what Christmas is," he murmured, trying to lift Sam's spirits. It was their first Christmas together since they'd adopted her, so Blaine understood Sam's disappointment.

They wanted to be together to celebrate the holiday, even if Molly didn't know what was going on. She would know that her daddies were happy and loved her.

For a while longer, they talked, then Blaine and Molly spent the rest of the day playing in front of the Christmas tree and listening to carols. Later, when Sam called, Blaine could hear the sound of other stranded passengers in the background and he thought his husband sounded miserable. Cuddling Molly close, Blaine promised to take 1 million pictures of her under the Christmas tree wearing her pretty, red holiday dress.

They went to bed early, after setting up milk and cookies so Blaine could take a picture of Molly peering at them curiously. It took Blaine a while to fall asleep, but eventually he managed, hand stretched out to touch the empty side of the bed where Sam slept when he wasn't out of town for a photo shoot.

A thump woke him in the early hours of the morning and Blaine jumped out of bed, reaching for the baseball bat he kept tucked behind the nightstand. Maybe it was just the wind knocking something against a window or door (the storm was still raging outside), but with a baby in the house he wasn't about to take any chances.

Slowly, he made his way downstairs and saw something that shocked him.

"Sam!" he exclaimed, setting the bat down and crossing the foyer to where Sam was stripping off his snowy parka, boots already resting on the tray. "How on Earth…I'm so glad to see you!"

Not caring about the snow or getting his pajamas wet, Blaine hugged Sam tightly, pressing kisses to his chilled cheeks and lips. "It's good to be home," Sam sighed, shrugging out of his jacket and enfolding Blaine in his arms.

"The airports are closed," Blaine murmured into his neck, content to cuddle close for as long as he could. "How did you get here?"

"Let's just call it a Christmas miracle," Sam said, pulling a small box from the pocket of his duffle bag. "Merry Christmas, Blaine."

"Oh, I get to open the first present," Blaine said, pulling Sam into the living room and lighting the tree. Before they could sit by it, Molly cried out and they ran up to get her, giving her a quick change and bringing her back downstairs.

Together, they sat by the tree, opening gifts for Molly to play with (she was more fond of the wrapping paper and bows) and exchanging their own little gifts. A few days later, Sam told Blaine he and some of the other stranded passengers had rented a car and driven up to the city through the storm, but in that moment, Blaine was willing to believe that a miracle had happened to give them their perfect first Christmas with their daughter.
