Aria had always been the outcast within her family. While her sister, the eldest, was out greeting guests or chatting with some prince from another country, Aria would be in the library reading or outside in the courtyard. Most nights, however, she would trek up the North Mountain in search of comfort in the icy howling wind. During the recent nights, she hiked up to her Aunt Elsa's empty ice castle only to find that it was occupied by the Queen herself. They would greet each other politely but then proceed to sit quietly on opposite sides of the castle.

Soon, Aria found herself warming up to the icy Queen. She realized just how much in common they had with each other. Aria found a new friend in Elsa and they talked all nights sometimes. After a time, Elsa even showed Aria her ice powers and they played together. However, Elsa was always cautious. She made sure she didn't hurt Aria the way she had hurt Anna. Both were so innocent. And as Elsa knew, innocence can lead to danger. As soon as Aria returned home one night after her visit with Elsa, quietly slipping into her bed without disturbing Clara, she realized that she wasn't alone. That maybe, just maybe, she could find a friend in Clara. Which was why the next morning, after years of silence, she spoke to her sister.
