"Naruto, don't walk away from me!" Sasuke chased after him, down the dark road.

"Oh yeah, just like you walked out on me four years ago?" He heard Naruto's voice quiver as he said this.

"I thought you said you were over that! I said I was sorry!" Sasuke pleaded, losing himself in hopelessness.

"Sometimes sorry isn't good enough." This was the first time Naruto turned around, and Sasuke saw his face.

His eyes were red, and his cheeks wore a water-marked expression. "I chased you for three years, three fucking

years Sasuke. I never gave up on you!"

"I know, and I came back didn't I?" Sasuke's voice dropped to a guilty whisper.

"We were best friends Sasuke, and you left without a word. How am I supposed to

get over that? Every day I'm worried you're gonna leave. Every single night I lie awake

wondering if I'm gonna see you the next morning. I can't deal with this anymore." Naruto's

anger decreased to desperation and anguish. It took everything in him to keep from shedding tears.

"I don't understand why you're so upset. Every time we get into any sort of argument you always bring that up.

I said I was sorry. I don't know what else you want from me. And quite frankly it pisses me off that I can't do anything

without you freaking out-"

"Damn it Sasuke, it's because I love you! I've always loved you, and every time I'm not with you, it feels like there's

this weight on my chest, keeping me from breathing. I think about you every minute of every day. No one has made

me happier then you do when I'm around you. No one has made me feel more jealousy then when all those girls fawn

over you. And no one has made me more pissed off then you do, and fuck..." The realization of what Naruto had just

said sank in. Glancing at Sasuke's shocked face, he instantly felt ashamed and embarrassed. He looked down, cursing

his loud mouth, and even more so, himself and his feelings. He just admitted to his best guy friend that he was in love with

him. Everything would change now. He cringed in anticipation to Sasuke's reaction.

"Dobe, I love you too." Naruto glanced up so quickly it made his head spin.

"Wha-what?"

"You heard me." And then Sasuke's lips were on his.
