Akamaru yawned, slitting one eye open as he regarded the closed door in boredom. Noises, soft ones, occasionally crossed the barrier, but there was no sign of Kiba himself yet. Akamaru was antsy. It had been hours.
A louder exclamation drew Akamaru's attention. Was that Kiba? The low moan drew Akamaru to his feet. Yes, that definitely was Kiba. Only... He sounded like he was in pain. The fur on Akamaru's neck stood on end as he jogged quickly across the room. Had someone snuck in and attacked his friend while he was vulnerable? He couldn't smell any blood, but... Worry washed over him.
The canine nosed open the door, bounding in with an air of extreme concern. Kiba - where was he? Akamaru sniffed, looking toward the futon where two forms appeared to be struggling. His nose told him all he needed to know - Kiba was in here somewhere, and possibly in pain.
With a whining growl, Akamaru leaped on the struggling figures. A startled shriek followed by extensive and creative cursing bombarded his sensitive ears as he pinned one of the unknowns underneath the blankets, heavy paws holding them in place. He bent closer, sniffing and using his nose to sift through the sheets until he touched warm flesh. He breathed in deeply. No - not Kiba, but familiar. A little bit like him. Smelt of him.
"Kiba!" The blonde woman Akamaru had pinned wasn't looking pleased. "Akamaru's in here."
The brown haired man sat up, flushed. "I, er, well, he --"
Akamaru's ears perked as his beloved friend appeared. He sprang at his, licking and sniffing and wagging his tail viciously as he checked his best friend over for injuries. Kiba laughed, pushing Akamaru away from him a bit, rubbing his head. "Hey, Akamaru, I'm fine!" He smiled, looking at an unimpressed Ino. "He just thought I was being attacked or something." He was still laughing when he met Ino's gaze. His laughter trailed off into a coughing fit, and he had the grace to look slightly ashamed. Slightly.
Ino glared at Kiba, then addressed Akamaru. "Akamaru? Darling?" The canine tilted his head to the side, regarding his best friend's bitch with interest.
Ino smiled. "As you can see... Kiba's perfectly fine." At his snicker, she kicked his leg. Kiba stopped. Sort of.
"So," she said, continuing slowly, "Unless there is some pressing reason why you need to be here-" at this she shot Kiba a squelching look - "I would appreciate you continuing to give us a little... space."
The canine looked toward his lifetime friend, seeing his small nod. It placated him - barely. Akamaru snorted, then shook himself and backed off the futon. He supposed Kiba had been vocalizing pleasure, rather than pain. It confused the large canine. Was he being mounted by the female? Akamaru supposed it was possible. Did that make her the dominant one? It was hard to imagine his Kiba as anything other than Alpha. He was still pondering the possibility as he quietly left the room, content that his master wasn't in any immediate danger. Behind him, Ino spoke.
"Why can't you be that obedient?"
Kiba turned his head to regard Ino, affecting innocence. "Hmm?"
She sighed, rolling her eyes. "Men." Yet she was already moving, pulling him toward her. She wrinkled her nose. "You smell like dog."
Kiba grinned, nuzzling her neck. He didn't mind - he didn't really notice Akamaru's scent on himself anymore - and he was fairly certain Ino only commented to remind herself it wasn't a normal condition of humanity. "I'm an Inuzuka," he quipped impishly.
"I'm a Yamanaka," she retorted, narrowing her eyes seductively and smiling. "And I believe we have some unfinished business..."
