A story I wrote like four months ago but never got around to finishing. It was supposed to be a one-shot but I was too lazy to finish… I'll find a way to extend the plot………
It was Mark's birthday! He was turning 22. Roger, Mimi, Collins, Maureen, and Joanne were throwing him a surprise party at the life café. Roger was going to get him in, and the rest of his friends would be there. They all had it planned out! With out Mark's help! (Which they needed for things like organizing events and what-not. That was Joanne's job this time.) Mark- half asleep- woke up at 9 in the morning to Mimi trying to hold in a giggle. He saw three blurry figures above him as he opened his eyes and then reached over for his glasses and put them on.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" his three roommates, Collins, Roger, and Mimi screeched in unison down at Mark who was still lying in his bed. He sat up smiling and blushing slightly, embarrassed his friends would do that for him, but at the same time extremely happy for the same reason.
Collins reached over and hugged Mark. "You're gettin' old man!" he said. Mark laughed, still completely flattered.
"Jesus," said Mark looking at his clock. "It's almost ten! How long have you been waiting?" asked Mark.
"Not long," lied Roger. They had really been watching Mark toss and turn joking about what they thought he was dreaming about based on his facial expressions for about 2 and a half hours, but they were having fun.
"Good," Mark said smiling and the other three broke out in laughter. "What?" asked Mark.
Then Collins told him the truth and all four of them started laughing.
Then Mimi ran over and got him a bowl of Cap'n Crunch for breakfast. This was of course a treat because none of them ever have breakfast… except on birthdays. Mark started laughing for no reason and offered everyone some cereal. They all said no but ended up each having a couple of spoonfuls.
"I'm HERE!" sang Maureen busting the doors open, Joanne not far behind carrying a small box wrapped in paper that a package would usually be wrapped in.
"Happy birthday Marky" said Maureen and kissed him on the cheek.
"Happy birthday Mark," said Joanne and pat his shoulder handing him the box.
"Thanks guys, you didn't have to get me anything you know," Mark said shyly.
"Aw, just open it Mark," Maureen told him. Mark opened the box to find his blue and white stripped scarf, folded neatly in the box.
"YOU FOUND MY SCARF!" Mark yelled, full of joy, he had left it on the subway two weeks prior.
"A homeless woman on the street was wearing it. I asked her where she got it, and she said she found it on the subway. So I gave her my scarf and a couple dollars in exchange for it. Don't worry I washed it." Joanne explained.
"Thank you so much!" Mark said hugging Joanne.
"Anytime honey." Joanne said returning the hug.
Aaaaaaaannd End chapter. I'll continue it later. Please give me some ideas of where to go with this!
