Well looky at that another DarkxRiku pairing XD
One Sided Waltz
Take a look at me, and look into my eyes,
See what I am giving you,
Don't look surprised.
My gift is quite simple; but it speaks a thousand sentiments:
A fine Heart, but not fine enough for you,
Give in, give up-I don't care, just give me your Heart!
Come to me at evening with all your worries,
And I will lend a delightful ear in the dark.
Your eyes follow another Heart,
But there's a Heart that beats just for you,
Riku, take a minute and just look at whose waiting!
Impatiently beside you.
You see me in the shadows and papers every day,
It's only your stubbornness dear that keeps us at bay.
Behind glass windows and another boy's eyes,
There arises a love that surpasses the end of time.
But there's a price to pay,
A small detail I demand:
Mine for yours. But you won't have it that way.
You love in vain a boy that will never be yours,
And I watch to make safe he doesn't,
I spend my time waiting for the dream to become a reality,
Like a Koi fish I swim with the current.
I must admit,
You are strong for one so young
But we'll dance this waltz forever Darling,
Until at last I've won.
He's giving her his heart. I hoped you liked it!
Symbolisms and interpretations:
Koi fish: I used the example of a fish to symbolise how Dark is 'drowning' [I know a fish can't drown in water!] in his love for Riku. The fish's natural habitat is water and where fish flourish-Dark truly comes alive when he falls in love with Riku; it's where he belongs. The fish is a Koi which can swim upstream to show that even if Riku keeps rejecting him he's still persistent and will still love her [live in the water] even when she doesn't love him.
"Take a look at me, and look into my eyes:" Looking into a person's eyes can be very intimate and personal. Dark is asking Riku to look into his eyes and see him and get to know him personally. Dark is essentially trying to break down the barriers Riku has set up between Dark and herself, namely her refusal of him.
"Behind glass windows and another boy's eyes:" Mmmm. Interestingly he doesn't use Daisuke's name. This goes to show how he's looking at Daisuke as another male whose a rival now by declaring him to be a "boy" who isn't him, Dark. A bit of insecurity methinks.
"And I watch to make safe he doesn't:" Dark is unhappy at the situation but he's content knowing that Daisuke doesn't return Riku's feelings, on the watch out more like. In other words, it' 'safe' at the moment. He's searching Daisuke for any signs of mutual love that may arise.
The capitalisation of the word 'Heart': I capitalised Heart because I'm using the word heart in two ways: 1. As an actual heart [you know love and everything]. 2. As a metaphor for their persons. Basically what Dark is trying to tell Riku is that he doesn't just want her Love, he wants ALL of her and he'll give all himself to her! It reminds me of the EdxWinry moment lol, I thought that as I was thinking about writing it.
