p class="p1"span class="s1"Belle. emBelle/em. The though of that being her name roll around her head. Antonio calls her that. It's a name and she's always wanted a stable name. Lars glares at her because she decides that Antonio is better at giving names than he is. She doesn't care because now she has a name. /span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" Antonio is mean, unhinged. She tells Lars that and he pales because it'll be hell to pay if Antonio hears her. He doesn't. /span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" However, Antonio does hear it from Lars' mouth. The fight doesn't even start small— punches are thrown and Belle screams and a vase breaks. Little Lovino and Henri have nightmares for weeks. She sweeps up the pieces of vase and when her broom drops to the floor she stops breathing. Antonio doesn't hurt her, like her did to her brother, but just tensely smiles and says, "You should be more careful."/span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" She breathes again./span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" She cuts her hair. It was down to her waist and the children would tug on it. She didn't mind that. She decides to cut her hair when Antonio decides to use it to yank her back to him. She never wants emthat/em to happen again. So she chops it off to just below her chin. It's choppy and doesn't even look slightly okay but she can live with it. When Lars sees it her tells her she's done a shit job and that he'll fix it. It looks better./span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" She looses her name. Belle, emBelle./em What a name it was. She'll find a new name someday. One she gives herself. She smiles as she starts to walk, she doesn't know where she's going but it's somewhere away from Antonio. She'll have to go back and when she does she'll have hell to pay but now as the ground picks at her bare feet, she is free./span/p
p class="p1"span class="s1" She refuses to think of Antonio or Spain as she vows to walk the entire way home./span/p
