Mike Biggs (geddit, because he's fat?) sat in his usual spot in the diner and tucked into his 9th breakfast of the day. 'Mmm,' he said, I just loves my food!' Or words to that effect.
'You practically ARE food, or words to that effect,' said Samuel, the sarcastic waiter, and the audience laughed. Then he made a 'joke' about diarrhoea because it was a Chuck Lorre show, and the audience laughed even harder, though this time a trace of desperation could be detected behind the mirth. Chuck Lorre wrote the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme tune, thought the viewer, and that was awesome! What went wrong?
'Yeah, food's great,' said Mike. 'I will eat all of the food. Hope I don't die!' The audience laughed again, but the viewer shifted uncomfortably in his or her seat. Mike really was very large, like unhealthily so. It wasn't really funny per se that he was morbidly obese, given the health risks, though that seemed to be the crux of the show's banal humour. Then they wondered whether the actor could lose weight if he wanted to, because then the show wouldn't really work. So if he wanted to keep the role, his job, he'd have to continue making himself ill, and that would be awful.
Then they flipped channel and watched something else, and forgot all about it.
