Elphaba looked out the window of Kiamo Ko castle. She had to remember to thank Fiyero for allow her to stay there. Then again, she wouldn't have to stay there if she wasn't the Wicked Witch of the West.

This distortion. This repulsion. This… WICKED WITCH!

She could still hear Morrible scream that to all of Oz. The day she went to meet the Wizard, thinking that he could help her. She had never been more wrong in her life. The Wizard was nothing but a fraud. It was all just smoke and mirrors. He was a liar.

Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?

Elphaba thought about this for a while. Was she born wicked? Sure, she was born green, but was she born wicked? She didn't believe she had a soul. Did that count?

All her life, she tried to do what's right. That's why she took care of Nessa. That's why she saved the lion cub. That's why she defied the Wizard. That's why she set the monkeys free. That's why she tried to save Fiyero.

She wondered what her life would have been like if she hadn't defied the Wizard. She would be his Magic Grand Vizier. Her lifelong dream. Well, now she should say her ex-lifelong dream. She should have been making good. Instead, she made everything worse. She stole her best friend's fiancée, even though she didn't mean to. Everything always went wrong. Look where her road of good intentions led her. Here. Fate could be so cruel sometimes.

"Alright, enough! So be it! " Elphaba shouted. She was tired of fighting. Tired of running. Just… so… tired. "So be it then." If it's a Wicked Witch Oz wants, then a Wicked Witch they shall get. "Let all Oz be agreed, I'm wicked through and through. I will never do a good deed ever again!"

And she meant it. She meant it with all her heart. She suddenly felt relieved. She felt free. She felt, dare she say it, wicked.

I had this idea for a while and finally decided to type it. How did it go?
