Wisdom

"Caitlin I agreed to you staying here but remember I'm the parent here. I question you." Gerry told her yet again as he walked in the house late.
"Fine, Sandra rang though, she said and I quote 'tell your pathetic excuse for a father to ring me whenever he gets in.'"
"Sounds like I've done something to annoy her again, therefore it can wait until tomorrow." Gerry laughed.
"Is that wise? Surely she'll get angrier."
"No, it gives her time to calm down and she doesn't need to know that I came home does she?"
"I suppose not. What's going on with you two?"
"Nothing, I make her angry and she shouts at me. Nothing more too it."
"Yeah but she'd have had you off of her team quicker than you could say UCOS if it was just that." Caitlin pointed out.
"We're friends Cait. We annoy the hell out of each other but at the end of the day neither of us really mean it and it's what makes our friendship so unique."
"Surely that isn't much of a friendship."
"You wouldn't have thought so but it does despite all the odds it works and the best friendship I have ever had."
"Just don't push her too hard dad. There will come a point when you push her past the point that is acceptable and past the point that she can dismiss it and laugh it off after the initial annoyance."
"Don't worry we've past the point several times but look we're still friends and going strong."
"Okay well don't lose her."
"If you ever find a friend like Sandra don't ever let her go Cait."
