Even if this was deep.
Even if this was really, really deep inside the Earth.
The sun's not something I'd wish for.
Humans. They build fences only for them selves. Surrounding their beliefs, their hopes. They stand in the middle of these fences, waiting, watching from a vindicated distance. Where there's still the opportunity to play the role of god within the cores of their own domains, their own worlds where there is no room for difference.
I run my fingers along their cages, passing the apertures with lack of interest, watching the way they watch me. I listen only to the quiet lies that seep between their lips, set at dishonest smiles. Wrinkling my nose at the fetor of their fears seeming almost to leak out beneath their soles, forming poles, creating streams, until it consumes…
There is no room for that of which anything is different.
Nothing is more important to them than their own lives.
I stand outside their domains casting shadows, leaving occasional drips of blood and tears, though most of it not mine. They wait till I turn breathing nothing but breeded abhorrence towards something they will choose to never understand.
I protect them from what they love. Because if I didn't, I'd be just like them. I hate their twisted grins and their impromptu havens—their ignorance… And every once in awhile, I envy them.
All anyone wants is to be saved, to not be left alone… And when that dream is within such grasping distance a few sacrifices mean little next to nothing. Because anything that beautiful must be pure. I tell you now I believe anything that pure is asking for trouble.
It's when you see the things you only want to see…
They tell themselves they're happy standing under just any blue painted sky.
Giving anything else away for memories of ecstasy.
But many get lost, finding nothing but more dreams, within the heavens their angels create.
Well, their heavens aren't enough for me…
I know their scores. And I breathe their pain.
I'd rather live what truth is here, and kiss the face of their cold nights.
Heaven, good-bye.
