Batman is more.
More cunning, more predatory, more primal.
More terrifying.
Brucie is more.
More obnoxious, more charming.
Moribund.

Both "Brucie" and "Batman" are masks, tools. Weapons in Bruce's crusade for Gotham's betterment: Brucie the shield, Batman the sword. Sometimes, when he struggles to recall a time when he felt happy or whole, when the Bat haunts his dreams and the playboy sambas on the grave of Bruce's self-respect... sometimes, Bruce Wayne hates them both.
