Lyla Prim Mellark
"Its a girl!"exclaimed .My baby girl is finally here."Isnt she perfect, Peeta?"I say. "Yes, Katniss she's perfect...what's her name
going to be?" Peeta ask ."Lyla Prim Mellark." I choke on the word Prim but I know its perfect. "I love it."says Peeta.I look up and he has tears in his eyes. "She looks just like you,Katniss."He whispers. Its true,she has my dark brown hair and olive skin. She opens her eyes an i imediatly see Peeta. "Look at her eyes, Peeta." I say.
The rest of the night goes uneventfully. I fall asleep around 11:00. Peeta had already fallen asleep. I take one last look at my baby then fall asleep.
Lyla wails and I wake up with a start. I glance at the alarm clock and it says 3:40. I feed her and change her diaper. Peeta and I decided to have cloth diapers, so it takes me awhile to get the snaps right. I lay her down in her crib and go back to bed.
I wake up at 10:30 and Peeta is already up and I smell pancakes.I look at Lyla sleeping peacefully.I dont want to wake her but she needs to eat.I feed her an then go down to has already made every thing."Thank you,Peeta!"I tell him.A small cry comes from Lyla's cradle.I start to get up but Peeta strides over to her cradle and picks her up."Whats wrong,Baby girl?"he ask her."She probabaly needs her diaper changed."I say and get up to go do so.
I get dressed and ready for the day while Peeta holds the baby down stairs. I called my mother last night and she is on her way now. When I go downstairs I see a red converdible right outside our door. "Effie!"I say in the silly capitol accent. She laughs ."I came to check on you guys,but obviously your not pregnant any more!Is it a boy or a girl?Whats its name?"she says exitedly. "Whoa,Effie,Slow down!"I laugh,Its a girl and her name is Lyla Prim Mellark.". After I hand Effie the baby I ask her if she has any news. Right away she perks up and says "Haymitch and I are expecting!". "Im so happy for you!"I exlaim. Effie leaves and I go take a nap with Lyla.
"Katniss, honey, wake up."Peeta whispers into my ear "your mom called,she'll be here in 15 minutes.
"thanks."I tell lips was just a sweet simple kiss but it had alot of emotion.
"I love you."I tell him.
"I love you too!"He says.
