Jack looked down on Cardiff from the Masters airship, Valiant. He watched as the sun crept over the horizon and spilt through the streets. Soon the Master would wake and come for him. To kill, to wound, to destroy. But Jack didn't care, he hadn't cared since the Master had told him that he had destroyed Torchwood and watched them die. That he had watched as his Tocaflane had ripped them to shreds spilling their blood onto the clean pure Himalayan snow.
As the light grew brighter the feeling of dread for the coming day and death gnawed at his empty stomach, immortals didn't need food. It was a waste apparently.
He heard the Masters smooth voice travel through the ship down to his cell. He'd been moved from the boiler room when the Master had decided he couldn't see what he was doing well enough.
A song started playing, the Master's new song of the day. Jack had never heard it before but it was alright, not his normal preference but it was ok.
By 9 o'clock he was starting to hum along
By 10 o'clock he knew all the words
By 11 o'clock he happened to think a word that corresponded with another and it worked. He started playing with other words to fit the beat.
By midday he was done.
Then the Master came.
Endless hours of torture later he found himself looking down on Cardiff again. The suns light was beginning to fade from the city, glinting off the few Tocaflane left there.
And he started to sing his song.

His voice echoed through the empty halls. Tears rolled unchecked and unnoticed down his cheeks and fell onto the cold metal floor.
The last rays of sun shone through the glass illuminating his form. His lifted his head up to face the window.
