Disclaimer: Borrowing from the Her Royal Magicness, J.K Rowling

A/N: My second songfic to the song of Hero, by Enrique Iglesias. It's a little rough, sorry about that, but the inspiration just hit me one night and then BAM! 'Twas written.

Ginny took one look at Harry's eyes- they were not the ones she had come to love, not by a long shot.

Why did it have to be him? Why does all the guilt ALWAYS have to fall on him?

The emerald eyes that belonged to her love were empty, emotionless. They had been like that for too long.

Ginny couldn't take it anymore.

Ginny opened the door to Harry's room and saw him doing what he always was doing nowadays- just sitting, staring into space. Wallowing in grief.

Would you dance if I asked you to dance?
Would you run and never look back

She stepped into the room and shut the door behind her.

"Harry. Harry, please."

He looked at her with confusion, almost as if he didn't recognize her.

Ginny felt tears gather in her eyes.

"Please don't shut me out Harry, please don't."

She was whispering now, but he could hear her perfectly.

Would you cry if you saw me crying

She moved over to the bed and sat down in front of him. Her tears spilled over, falling down her cheeks and leaving trails of wetness.

Harry stared at the tears with a pained, extremely sad expression, and with a trembling finger, reached out with his forefinger and touched one of the tears.

Would you save my soul tonight?

And then the dam in the emotionless eyes broke and the emerald eyes that belonged to Harry Potter filled with tears that slowly spilled.

Would you tremble if I touched your lips?
Would you laugh oh please tell me these

"Harry, please, look at me."

But he couldn't. How could he, someone who, by his own weakness, let a madman kill more innocents everyday, look into the eyes of this sweet angel, this beautifully innocent girl? Do even look would sully her goodness.

Now would you die for the one you love?
Hold me in your arms tonight?

Ginny could see she wasn't getting through to him. He was showing emotion, but what did it matter? She knew he was just condemning himself.

"HARRY! Please, I can BE there for you, I can HELP you… just let me in. Harry please, you need me."

And then, in a whisper, came the end of what she needed to say.

"And I need you."

I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away

She needed him. She did- she needed, she craved, she wanted him so much that it hurt. And it hurt that he wouldn't let her in.

"I'm not going away Harry, I'm never going to leave you. And I can't bear seeing you like this, or ever being without you."

Am I in to deep?
Have I lost my mind?
I don't care you're here tonight

Harry didn't care. Or at least that's what he tried to tell himself as he listened to this angel pour out her heart. But the truth was that he wanted to be with her forever, to help her.

But if he cared, if he did what he wanted, he would be mocking all of the deaths that he inadvertently had caused by not stopping Voldemort before he could kill all those that he already had.

Before he had killed Ron and Hermione.

And that's what it all boiled down to.

Everything that had happened, every single death that had occurred was his fault. All his fault.

I can be your hero baby
I can kiss away the pain

Ginny could almost see the emotional block again holding back all of Harry's feelings, even though his tears continued to fall.

She couldn't allow it to happen.

Ginny cupped his jaw, and forced his eyes to hers for the first time since she had walked in the door.

"It's not your fault."

I will stand by you forever
You can take my breath away

And as Harry finally gazed into Ginny's compassionate brown eyes, he noticed one thing.

Truth.

A/N: Drop a me line, tell me how you liked it. 'Tis sad, but a pre-happy ending, if you know what I mean.
