Disclaimer: I don't own anything

A/N: This is just a little ficlet that I thought I would write in honor of the first major snowfall. Enjoy and Happy 2007!

Rory shivered as the air around her drove through her hat and gloves. Tristan gave her another look. He thought that she was crazy. She knew that he did. Still, she didn't care. It was the first snowfall, and that always required a walk, no matter what the conditions. Tristan had come along, not trusting Rory to be alone in a Connecticut blizzard.

"You're freezing, let's go home." He tried one more time.

"No! The first snow is a religious experience." She said. "Can't you feel it?" Tristan looked at her. The happiness on her face was apparent. He didn't understand how walking in a freak blizzard could become a religious experience, but he couldn't deny her the joy that it brought. Her joy was his joy. So, if she wanted to walk in the blowing snow and rapidly falling temperatures, so would he.

"Sure." He said to appease her. He had watched as her porcelain cheeks slowly turned red and now the snowflakes were sticking to her eyelashes. He fought the Sound of Music reference, but it popped into his head anyway. Too much time in Stars Hollow, he thought, Lorelei would be proud. All of a sudden, Rory stopped. "What is it?" He asked.

"Look." She said, pointing to the sky. Tristan realized that the snow had stopped blowing almost as suddenly as it had started. Thousands of stars filled the clear night sky. The moonlight reflected off the snow seemed to make the small town glow.

"It's beautiful." He said, staring up towards the heavens. BAM! Tristan felt something hit him in the back. He turned around and there was Rory. A devilish look on her usually innocent face. He wiped the remains of the snowball off his coat and slowly started picking up snow around him. "Oh, you are so going to pay for that." He said, but before he could take his revenge, another snowball beat him to it. Rory turned around to see where the offending object had come from. There was Luke and Lorelei, also going for their annual walk in the snow.

"Luke!" Lorelei shouted, pointing her fingers at her husband. Luke's hands went in the air, trying to prove his innocence.

"Are you just going to stand there?!" Rory asked Tristan, making it clear that it was now a full-fledged war.

"What the Heck." Tristan said as he threw his snowball at Lorelei. His aim was true and he hit her right in the stomach.

"HEY!" Lorelei cried as she frantically gathered all the snow around her to make snowballs. "What do you think you're doing!" The four of them, engaged in a huge snowball fight, were no longer concerned with the temperature or wind chill. Instead, they became children again, the laughing and fighting keeping them warm. Once all the commotion had settled down and Rory had initiated a peace agreement, they all went home for hot chocolate, in accordance with Page One, Paragraph A, Subsection B of the treaty.
