Standing on the back porch of the Bartowski residence, on a beautiful clear night filled bright stars, Chuck listened as Sarah explained how his exceptional field service had earned him his degree from Stanford. It was official. He had graduated. He now had a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering.

He couldn't believe that Sarah and especially Casey had done this for him. It was just about the most wonderful thing that anyone had ever done for him. It warmed his heart to see that his friends, yes his friends cared so much about him. Now he could be somebody. He could be someone his sister could be proud of.

Sarah turned to face the night sky. "You see that star out there on the horizon?"

Chuck then turned to the sky himself.

"There," Sarah said in a barely audible whisper as she leaned toward Chuck and pointed to the shimmering celestial object to which she was referring.

"That's the Air Force, bouncing Morimoto's satellite off the atmosphere and burning it up."

"Make a wish," Sarah said in a warm tone as she turned to face Chuck again.

"It's yours," Sarah continued as her tone grew even warmer.

Sarah looked to Chuck for a few moments with a small smile on her face, before turning back in the direction of the stars shimmering in the heavens.

Chuck now turned to look at Sarah for a moment. He knew what he wanted. He probably wouldn't ever have it, but he decided to wish for it anyway. Then turning back to the night sky, Chuck found the star Sarah had indicated. Chuck closed his eyes and made his wish. The wish his heart had longed for ever since the moment he first met the beautiful Sarah Walker.

After a few seconds of silence, Sarah looked to Chuck again and in a soft, sweet voice asked, "what did you wish for?"

Chuck turned his entire body so that he was now fully facing Sarah. "I can't tell you. It won't come true if I do," he replied with a smile.

Sarah turned and stepped closer to Chuck, "Well, how can I make it come true if you won't tell me what it is that you wished for?" Sarah said with a slight sultry tone to her voice, brushing the back of her hand across his face as she spoke.

Chuck's eyes went wide and his heart started pounding in his chest. This had to be a dream. It couldn't be real, but it was.

Sarah moved even closer to Chuck, close enough that their bodies were touching and gently placed her hand on Chuck's face as she slowly moved her lips closer to him. Brushing her lips across his, Sarah softly kissed him. The kiss lasted but a moment, but the effect it had on them would last the rest of the night.

Keeping her body very close to his, Sarah's sparkling eyes looked deeply into Chuck's, "was that your wish?"

Chuck took Sarah's hand in his with a smile. "Almost," he silently whispered to himself. "Almost."

Hand in hand, they turned back to stars. Sarah then laid her head upon Chuck's shoulder and he gently laid his head upon hers. Together they watched the star Chuck that had wished upon as it slowly burnt out.

Maybe wishes really did come true sometimes. Chuck thought to himself. Maybe one day they could stand together on the back porch of the home they shared and look out to the stars on a beautiful night just like this one. That's what he wanted. That's what he wished for.
