Summary: Five darker roads that the Kaiser could have taken in his life, but didn't.

Blood was his sustenance now. The thought of the dark liquid filled his mind more than dreams of power ever had. He had to avoid those he cared about. He couldn't bring himself to feed from them, no matter how much the hunger roared within him. He hated Camula and what she had done to him, despite the fact she was years gone and beyond any vengeance that he could have exacted upon her. He came so close to feeding off of Shou, his own brother. He wanted to die, but he couldn't. There were indeed fates worse than death.

He had heard scattered tales of a great disaster at the Academy, but no one had wanted to talk to him about it. He thought it had closed after some sort of exchange program gone wrong, but there was too much for him to do to really notice. He hadn't heard from Shou since then either. Strange. But he had too many duels of his own to deal with. His unbroken winning streak had to be kept up. The pressure was intense, but he could deal with it. He was the Kaiser; dealing with powerful duels was what he did.

He tore through the ranks of the Pro Leagues with the power of a burning sun. White light fueled his heart and soul, burning away all traces of the darkness he had once thought to immerse himself in. Saioh-sama had come to him after Saruyama talked to him about joining the underground circuit. Saioh-sama had proven the power of the light and he realized there were so many others who needed this enlightenment. He would be returning to Duel Academia soon, at Saioh-sama's command, to spread the bliss of the light. Rejoice, he thought, the Light Kaiser is coming back.

Hell's Knight stared impassively at his opponent. It was only a Wingweaver; no one important. There was no one important to him except his master and his master's orders: bring me their souls. That command burned in his mind deeper than anything else. He had already destroyed a dozen Duel Monsters who thought they could stand against Haou. This would be just another one. Meaningless and useless, save for what strength she could bring Super Fusion. He scarcely even needed to exercise his best strategies. Only his master could truly defeat him anymore. That was why he eternally served Haou.

Power beyond power. That was what he was looking for: the power to always win, to never be defeated, no matter what. While he was an excellent student, he had never researched something like this before. But with a little help from Daitoukuji-sensei, he managed to find what he was looking for. So what if he had to spill his own blood? So what if he spent less and less time with Fubuki and Fujiwara? He believed it would be worth it, even as he sank away into the darkness that he had summoned. It had to be worth it.

The End
