Hold Your Breath
Edward stared at the sleeping body in his arms with compassion, as he calmly caressed her head. Slowly waking, her eyes opened with a blank stare.
"What took you so long," she quietly murmured.
Edward chuckled a low, dark chuckle, "you'll have to excuse my tardiness, there was a couple of vampires who needed a lesson in how to REALLY bite a neck."
"S-so you bit THEIR necks?!"
Edward paused for a moment to look away and looked back at her with a look of discretion.
"Mmmm more like there isn't a part of them left to bite" he said with a smirk. Well you haven't exactly been an angel yourself, isn't that right, Bella."
Being accused of something she was innocent of, she looked at him with look of defense.
"You know i haven-"
"Not yet anyway," Edward butted in. "but we should probably evacuate the area before a mob of vampires come for revenge in the name of their brethren."
"Good idea," Bella remarked.
Edward mounted Bella on his back and sprinted towards nowhere.
"Where are we going?" Bella questioned.
Running slowly, Edward padded over the mushy grass of a forest. The forest was filled with a wet mist and gargantuan trees and boulders that would cast a shadow on giants if there was a visible sun.
"There is supposed to be a cave tucked behind a waterfall around here that's good for relaxing and hiding from hoards of vampires if there is ever a need." Edward explained.
"Sounds interesting," Bella slowly spoke as she thought over the idea.
"I won't keep you waiting then." Edward said with sudden excitement and then dashed towards the top of a high mountain with Bella on his back.
"Sometimes I think of you as more of a horse." Bella said jokingly.
"Well then..heeyaa!" Edward yelled.
Arriving quickly to a large precipice. A roaring flood could be heard in the distance.
"Wait...is that what I think it is!" Bella screamed in terror.
"If by "it" you mean a waterfall drop of about seventy feet…then yes" Edward said with a grin spread across his face.
"I guess there's no turning back now!" Bella shouted, "Go for it!"
"That's what I like to hear!" Edward yelled back as he jolted for the edge of the cliff and dived into oblivion.
To be continued…
