I cried, I don't know how updated you are to Hitman Reborn, but I won't spoil. I'll just tell you I cried. This one-shot is dedicated to the end.

He slashed another body, blood splattering everywhere. But nothing could make him feel better, not even blood curling screams. Today was the death anniversary of Mammon.

Bel and Mammon were in the living room, like any other day. Mammon knew what was going to happen soon, the Arcobalenos were dropping dead so quickly. It was going to be his time sooner, or later.

"Bel? What would you do if I died?" Mammon asked.

"Ushishishi, there you go again. You will not, and can not abandon the Prince. Who else would keep me company?" Bel replied, grinning like normal. Mammon sighed, he knew Bel would deny the truth with every ounce in his body. So, he got up and floated in front of Bel.

"I need to go somewhere," Mammon said.

"Alright, but you can't die. And that's an order from the Prince. Promise?" Mammon started to float away, but Bel grabbed him back.

"Promise." Bel demanded.

"Promise..."

He remembered the day so vividly. It was as if it was just yesterday. Later that day, there was a report that Mammon had died. Bel refused to accept the truth. He locked himself in his royal bedroom, and threw knifes at everyone that tried to get him out. Thinking about that day caused an undefinable feeling. To try to get rid of it, Bel slashed another man. The pain wouldn't stop, it wouldn't go away.

"Fran? What's this empty feeling I have?" Bel asked, ashamed he went to Fran. The froggy's blank stare bore into Bel's cover eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I feel like something is missing. It's an empty hole in my chest."

"You're sad."

Sad? Emotions were not in the Prince's database. He was assassin, emotions get in the way. He stopped having them a long time ago.

"You're a stupid froggy, the Prince doesn't have emotions."

"That's the only thing that connects to those 'empty feelings', though, Fake Prince." Bel threw some knifes at Fran's head, but didn't get the normal satisfaction. Something was wrong.

"Forget it, I'll go figure it out myself."

Bel went to one of the training rooms and sat near a wall. In suddenly anger, he punched the wall. The stupid frog was right, he knew he missed Mammon. Mammon was the only person in the Varia that showed slight care for him, besides Luss. Mammon made the lonely Varia life bearable. Mammon was everything. Bel coated his knifes in storm flames and shot them everywhere. The pain didn't ease, though. Instead, it grew. It grew like the storm flames everywhere. Bel stood up and punched the wall again.

"You went against my orders. I told you, you couldn't die. You defied me, you left me."

Bel did something he never did in his life. He cried. Falling to his knees, he clutched the only thing left of Mammon. His, now empty, pacifier.

"You broke our promise."
