"I've finally got you." Jasper grabbed Lapis as she tried to fly away. Jasper laughed as she held the smaller gem by her ankle. " I win."
"Let her go, Japser." Peridot called out. "That's not how the game works."
"I don't understand. I thought the point was to capture one the opponents." Jasper let Lapis go. Lapis fled to the top of the barn. She was still a little uncomfortable around Jasper, even though it's been almost ten years since jasper joined forces with
them to defeat homeworlds' evasion.
"I don't like this game. Why are we playing?" Lapis said.
"Well maybe it would be fun if you were playing it right! Steven explained in great detail of how to play. The point of the exercise is not to capture your opponent but to touch them then you are the 'it'. Then to get rid of being the 'it' you have to
touch someone else and say tag your it. Like right now Lapis is the 'it' so all she has to do.." Peridot explained using slightly too many hand motions.
"Oh I get it." Lapis flew down and tagged Peridot. "Tag, your the it."
"Very good now im the..Waita minute! You can't tag me I was explaining the rules. We're on break." Lapis scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"I still don't understand how do you win?" Jasper said.
"It's not a game that you can win."
"Then what's the point?"
"The point, jasper, is the game builds friend relationships and other stuff, Idon't know ask Steven. And Lapis your still the it." Jasper was still confused on the point of this but wasn't about to lose.
"So is the break over?" Lapis said seriously considering just flying to the other side of the planet.
"Yes the break is over.." Peridot started running. "Now!" She immediately tripped fell face first into the dirt. Lapis flew over to her and touched her head.
"Tag your the it...again." She flew back over to were Jasper was. Jasper had a confused, determined look on her face which made lapis smirk.
Bismuth, who had been watching the fiasco from across the yard, kneeled down next to had been released from her bubble to help fight homeworld. After the battle she decided to stay with the crystal clods at the barn. She felt more
needed there. "You okay Peri?"
"I'm fine." Peridot said muffled with her face still in the ground.
"Here you can tag me. I haven't been the it yet." She put her hand out.
"No. I don't need your help. I can tag someone on my own." And slapped Bismuths hand away.
"Oh it looks like I'm the it." In a blink of an eye, Bismuth picked up peridot and ran over to lapis and Jasper. Before the two could react she grabbed them from behind. "Well it looks like everyone is the it now."
"THATS NOT HOW THE GAME WORKS!"
