Chapter 1- The Letter
Dear diary,
Today when I woke up this morning I felt good and happy about the day. When the most peculiar thing happened. A barn owl flew straight past my window! After feelinng confused for a moment, I got up, brushed my hair and put two French braids in it. I brushed my teeth and ran downstairs.
I gave my dad a hug and my mum a kiss on the cheek. We heard the letter box flap open then close, the letters dropping onto the mat. There were 4 letters altogether: 2 for my dad, 1 for my mum and 1 for me. I mean who could be writing to me.
I quickly sat down and ate my breakfast - pancakes, blueberries, granola, honey and yogurt. As I was doing this I opened my letter. I nearly chocked on my breakfast when I opened it because I though it might have been from my Auntie who lives in Australia. But I was wrong.
Here's what it said:
'Dear Miss Hermione Jean Granger,
We are delighted to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and wizardry. A letter concealed inside tells you what you need for school and where to get it. We know you are a muggle born so send your letter with your reply back soon before the 31st of July.

I'm still in shock, I couldn't believe it then and I can't believe it now. Tomorrow me and my family and going to Diagon Alley.
