Hei world! (See what I did there. XD) I did a Darker Than Black marathon this week and I started to write this a long time ago. Now I found this file and I decided to finish it. This took place right after the OVA's where Yin was evolving and she...yeah. Now Hei's all depressed and I wanted to write what he was feeling. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
Broken
He was alone.
Completely and forever alone.
Alone in this hell called reality.
No one was with him, no one by his side anymore.
Everyone he knew, everyone he had ties with was dead. Dead and gone and never coming back.
"Hei."
He heard a ghost of a whisper. Yin, he thought, but shook his head and took another swig of beer. She's dead.
"Hei."
Now he was getting angry. His mind was playing tricks on him and his hand gripped the bottle.
"Hei."
He gritted his teeth and lurched forward, forcefully throwing the bottle across the room. The sound of glass shattering filled the room and broken pieces littered the floor.
Broken.
He stood, breathing heavily and immediately leaned sideways. His side hit the wall and ragged breaths replaced the echoes of shattered glass.
Broken.
What a mess he was. His mind was muddy from all the beer he drank and his insides felt twisted. He was broken.
The events he experienced since he became a monster left him broken and alone inside.
Broken and alone.
The ragged breaths turned into ugly sobs and he lost control. Empty bottles around the room suddenly exploded all at once, his broken screams accompanying the sounds of broken glass.
"Hei."
Her voice flooded into his head and he screamed until the back of his throat burned.
"Stop."
His moans died down and he lay in a fetal position on the floor.
"Hei."
Her voice rang in his ears and he felt his eyes close. The broken glass dug deep into his skin, but he didn't care.
After all, he was the largest broken piece in the room.
