He stood back and watched as she pressed hands and cheek, against Serenity. Was she resting, or watching, or just listening to sounds he couldn't hear? The muscles beneath her skin flexed tensely: waiting.
It had been a long few months, since the music and noise had died on his ship, leaving everyone quiet, and her no music to dance to.
She reached out touching the toys in front of her as if they were alive. She smiled a sad smile and looked back over her shoulder, holding the dinosaur towards him, "We're just waiting for someone to dance with."
