The first clue was the tiny trace of red shmutz he'd noticed behind her ear.
The second was her reluctance to use the silver cutlery he'd replaced before she'd arrived.
The third was the eye-flare in the surreptitious cell-phone photo.
The final clue was the shriek of pain when she'd tried to suck his soul out through his mouth.
"How?" she rasped, as she lay dying.
"Copy protection, bitch," he growled, pulling down the neck of his shirt to reveal his latest tattoo.
Yes, the conclusion was clear; modern dating was a lot more dangerous than it used to be.
