Bring Forth; Give Way

Standing silently, frightened and still,

Off in the distance, you hear a humming trill.

Wrong, it's a scream,

Or was it all just a dream?

The weather is icy, the weather is cold,

Nothing less from his armor's bold.

Wishing you could live,

Wishing to give,

A new birth of life,

Of freedom or strife.

But it's all too late,

For you are His bait

In the Devil's eyes.

Devil? No such thing, just a disguise.

He takes a step forward: One, Two, Three.

When he walks close enough, you then see..

Your son.

You pause and shake the image out of your head.

No, not My Son, just a child mourning over the dead,

Living in hell,

Wishing to hear the ringing of the bells.

Yes, just a lost child, a stray dog,

Who took the wrong path and walked through the fog.

Alone and sorrow filled, who chose to kill,

And to every victim, gives a chill.

xx

Though even when you should be praying,

You wonder to yourself as you're laying

In the frozen, cold mud,

When he raises his sword over your blood.

"Is he really that young?"

And yet all you can see when you look in his eyes... is Your Son.

Hope you like it! It's when Kenshin is still an assassin and is going to kill a father/enemy of Choshu. Basically, Kenshin reminds the father/enemy of his son. Note: Throughout the poem, the enemy is literally in the process of being killed. It starts where he screams, then his last minute thoughts of his son, and lastly, Kenshin gives the final blow.

Please review, Enjoy! Reiia
