Miku was worried sick.

It had been two weeks since Len disappeared, one week and three days since his twin had gone in search of him. It had been so long; what if neither of them came back? She couldn't stand it, all this fear, all these dark, terrifying thoughts running rampant through her head. Would it really be that hard to have even a single shred of optimism?

Sighing, the singer stared at the reflection in her vanity mirror. What was happening to her? She used to be so happy, so full of life, so confident. Now, she was a pale mess that spent all her time in a miserable daze. Her two closest friends were gone, and had been that way for half a month. She clearly remembered the beginning of it, as if it had happened yesterday...

"Chill out," Miku chided, attempting to placate her frantic friend. Len was nowhere to be seen, and had been missing for a whole day. Admittedly, she was scared, too; hadn't Master said something about recycling?

"I-I can't," Rin cried. "I can't, I can't, I can't! What if they took him from me? What if he's been reprogrammed? What if they moved him to a different group? What if they removed him altogether?"

"'What if's' will get us nowhere," the teal haired diva scoffed. "Just wait; I bet he'll come in soon, and hug you and tell you about how silly it was for you to worry. Len's amazing. No one would ever get rid of him."

The blonde sniffed. "I hope so..." she whispered. Allowing herself to fall backwards on the orange bed, she stared miserably at the ceiling, following the white textured swirls with her eyes. Miku was relieved that her friend was calmed, at least somewhat. Deeming it likely that Rin would do something rash, she decided to keep an eye on her. Suddenly, she had an idea.

"Hey, Rin!" she said excitedly. "Let's make a cake!"

"Banana," the blonde replied flatly. "If I'm making a cake, it's going to be banana."

Miku nodded, grinning. Maybe things were starting to look up.

Such happy thoughts had deserted her. Oh, how she missed them.

Suddenly, her dark blue phone lit up, alerting her of a message. Miku hadn't touched it since they left, but checked it nonetheless in hopes of an update on the search. The text had three words.

"I found him."

Something filled Miku to the brim, an emotion she hadn't been able to feel in so long. Elation. She was actually happy.

Wasting no time, the teenager popped up and ran to the front door, grabbing her shoes and running out into the cool night air. Quickly, she inquired of Rin as to where she was, pocketing the device once she had a reply.

Tonight, Miku was going to get her friends back.
