Once upon a time was a beautiful, powerful country called Golador. Its king and queen were kind and that cared about their country. The people loved them and looked up to them for guidance. The country was filled with beautiful green forest, colorful flowers, clear blue skies, snow-toped mountains, and lively people. Almost everyone was happy and there were very few crimes. The humans, elves, dwarfs, fairies, and other magical creatures and people lived in peace together. It was so wonderful it seemed like a dream; just something you would read in a book. It was so beautiful it seemed like a picture. It was almost too beautiful to be true. But that was once upon a time. Memories of those happy times faded away after the war. After the people's beloved queen and king where murdered. It seemed like darkness lingered over the country. The forest and mountains soon become dark and over run with trees and plants. People soon started committing crimes and the prisons quickly filled. The magical people and creatures that use to live in peace with the humans where forced to go into hiding because of fear. The people longed for a day when someone would save them from this mess that Golador had turned into and from their evil king.

----

THE BEGINNING OF THE WAR

Two armies stood across each other on the battle field. One side fought hoping to gain more land while the other fought to protect theirs. The battle had lasted days and the men on both sides where tired and hungry. Suddenly a cry burst from Analic's lips and the Sandlar army charged forward. The king of Golador raised his sword and yelled "for our friends, our family, and our country!" The king charged forward with his men following him.

A young queen stood on the balcony to the palace and looked out at her country. Since the war had started, she stood their everyday waiting and watching for her husband and his men to return. She was nervous and distressed. She paced back and forth but finally put her elbows on the edge of the balcony and rested her head in her hands. Her maid walked onto the balcony "My queen, please leave. It is not safe here.

"What do you mean?" answered the queen. "News of the battle hasn't even reached us yet."

The maid handed the queen a piece of paper.

"What is this?" asked the queen.

"News." was the maids only reply.

The queen took the piece of paper and carefully unfolded it. Once she had unfolded it and read the words written on it, she fell to her knees and put her face in her hands to hide her tears.

"I'm sorry, my queen. You must leave. It is too dangerous for you to be here."

"I will not go." the queen said sternly.

"But Analic will kill you!"

"I will not leave my people."

"Please you must go!"

"No! I am not a coward and I will not abandon my people. If they die I will die with them. If they are made slaves I will become on with them." She lowered her voice to a whisper. "They need me." You could hear her tiredness and pain in just those there words. As if she had suddenly gave up and was weak.

There was silence for a few minuets but it seemed like hours.

The queen stood "Go, my dear." she said to the maid.

"What? Why?"

"Take my daughter and flee. Raise her. Change her name. And never, please never let her now who she is or where she comes from."

"But where will I go?"

"Kalla. I will write a letter to their king, warning them of what has happened. You must deliver it to him no matter what." She paused. "Kalla is our friend. They will protect you. Now go."

The maid walked to the door but before entering she turned around to take one last look of Golador then she left.
