Saving Octavian

Georgie's POV

It happened on the world's most boring history excursion. Georgie had wondered away from her group, the tour guides voice droned in the background as she imagined better days, lying in an open field, reading. Lost in thought she's stopped in front of an almost flat stone face, pressed against the museums walls. Pulling herself from her thoughts she leaned forward and ran her hand down the face nearing the mouth the stones lips appeared to move towards the ring on her finger, latching itself to it. Georgie felt a pull in the pit of her stomach, pulling her forward. Closer and closer to the stone, then she was falling, falling through an abyss, not a single light shone nor could any sound be herd.

She'd been falling for a while now, a long while when suddenly she hit the ground with a large resounding thud and a quick jolt of pain through her wrist and head. A familiar sound followed, then light flooded the huge cavern she'd landed in and a beautiful face appeared above her with the loveliest green eyes she'd ever seen. Georgie's heart beat increased, there in a corner of the cavern stood a shockingly familiar blue police box. It can't be, that's just a TV series, isn't it? Her thoughts were running of on a tangent, she only managed a stutter of words, a smile appeared on the man's face and then she fainted.

The Doctor's

He was a bit late in getting to her or maybe she was early? But when he got there she was already there laying half in darkness half in light, pain flickering on her face, then a look of awe and then one of shock all in quick succession of each other appearing. Her eyes diverted from his to something behind him. The TARDIS. Ohhh. It dawned on him. She must only know of me in the TV series. This was all wrong he'd gone back to far in time; he should've been with her in her time not now when she'd first fallen through. Lost in his thoughts he hadn't notice Georgie faint; lying rigid with eyes closed. He bent down and picked her up carrying her inside the TARDIS shutting its door quickly and lying Georgie on the couch in the control room while he fetched some bandages and clothes much more appropriate for the time period she'd fallen in to. Once her wrist was wrapped he set of in search of clothes for him.

Meanwhile outside the cavern…..

Octavian stood waiting out the front of the stone face, it was tradition every year on the night after the big harvests everyone came and stood watching and waiting. Long before his birth a prophecy had been told of the arrival of a person who would be either the cause of their demise or their salvation, not just the people of Rome but of all the surrounding areas. The stone face stood as the key for the person to arrive in Rome by, it had been built long before the prophecy was ever spoken, long before Rome had even been founded and held a great deal of significance to anyone no matter how young or old, it wasn't just her key it was theirs too.

Octavian's patience was wearing thin the Firmalampe's* oil was so low that it only emitted a dull flame and people had already started the eating the feast, giving up on their saviour coming that night, some praying for her to come soon.

Octavian stood there it was his fifth year of doing this and now they really did need a saviour. People were disappearing right off the roads; no sign's of struggles left or any possessions only the vivid memories.

AN - so this is the first story i've let other people read. I'm open to contructive critisicm and i hope you guys like it :)
