A couple things to note before you get started reading:
I've made many changes to how things are going to play out so I apologize if this seems repetitive to anyone, I am NOT changing the gender of anyone. Starlights are male in civilian life and then female as scouts. Also there will be no change in POV this will be straightforward third person. Anyway I hope you appreciate the rework. I know I couldn't get through the last version of this. Read and Review 3
Chapter One:
"TALK" 'Thoughts' Narrative
And so Galaxia had been defeated… It's hard to believe that it was already the third year anniversary of rebirth of the earth. Alright so technically it wasn't a complete rebirth but Usagi had begun to see it that way. & to all the senshi it began to feel like now there was nothing but waiting until the time of Neo Queen Serenity. Not that anyone was complaining, but when for about 5 years all you do is battle after battle the sudden peace gave a person too much time to reminisce, too much time in their own head…
Well at least Seiya saw it that way. Seiya, Taiki, and Yaten had been living on earth since that time. And every once and a while Princess Kakyuu, or K as she was trying (and failing) to get them to call her, would come visit. Seiya loved earth, he had created and maintain a home there… but it was never the same. He longed to return to the still destroyed Kinmoku. He missed the night sky the most, Earth was beautiful at night but the constant blaring of city lights and honking noises prevented anyone from seeing the true beauty of the stars. Kinmoku on the other hand, it drew its power from the stars. The stars were pure and dream like, as if you were walking into the location of Van Gogh's Starry Night, Earth could never give him that. Earth could never give him back what he had lost back on Kinmoku. Sure the material possessions he lost at home could be replaced but there were some things that were simply one of a kind. Things, materials were all he had to remind him of his comrade. The comrade. Being on earth with this peace was just another factor pushing her memory away. Seiya could hardly remember anything anymore.
He turned back to the present.
Everyone was gathered at Hikawa Shrine to spend the anniversary together. It was nice Seiya admitted to himself. Company always made space seem smaller. Things were normal. Usagi and Rei huddling together discussing (more like arguing) the rules tantalizing game of Truth or Dare, Ami, Makoto, Minako, Taiki, and Yaten standing by watching them bicker, Setsuna and Mamoru watching Chibi-Usa and Hotaru, and finally Haruka and Michiru off the kitchen. Seiya sat quietly to himself watching everything unfold.
Usagi was the first to reach out to him "Seiya! Come come join in we're just about to start!"
Seiya smiled, Usagi could always tell when he was a little sad. Even subconsciously. It was one of the qualities that first attracted Seiya to Usagi. And although there was a tension between them that could never be, Seiya learned that this draw he had to Usagi was just something that drew everyone to her. So in the last three years Seiya was able to realize that Usagi, yes was still one of the most important people in his life. But their relationship was that of a friendship.
"Seiya, could you get a move on? I would love to start this before I age another three thousand years"
Yaten.
Seiya looked over at his fellow starlight. 'Not amusing' But never the less he got up and roughly found a seat next to Yaten. And by roughly, it was more like sitting on top of him until he moved. All in good fun though.
Truth, dare, truth, dare, truth, and dare. The game went on and on and on. It was pretty entertaining actually. There were silly pranks played, funny questions to ask. Seiya's personal favorite was definitely watching Haruka admit she in fact DID know the words to a Three Light's song. There was revenge for that one…but all worth it.
Eventually everything began to quiet down. Mamoru and Setsuna brought Chibi-Usa and Hotaru inside. The two girls had fallen asleep, cuddled on the bed together. Setsuna then settled down next to Michiru and Ami while Mamoru took a seat with Usagi. The game of truth or dare had long been forgotten and everyone was reminiscing.
Seiya listened to Minako talk about always losing Princess Serenity only to find her staring down onto the Earth. It was easy to miss the look on Usagi's face when Mamoru reached to hold hands with the slightest movement. They talked about adventures, birthdays, and lavish balls, all the things Seiya used to hear about the Silver Millenium. Everyone shared just a little bit when finally it seemed like it was naturally the Starlight's turn.
Minako inquired first "You know, Seiya we never hear about your time during the Silver Millenium…Why don't you share something"
"Well I wouldn't know what to share. All those memories are in the past. Besides they're really not that fun to hear about. We mostly just filed paperwork" Seiya flashed a smile to the curious faces in the room.
"You must have done something fun!" said Makoto
"Seiya right you know. Just paperwork. all day." Taiki answered back
"You've got to be kidding me? What no romance no nothing?" whined Usagi
Yaten looked over to Seiya maliciously. "Seiya don't be such a mysterious jerk. Go on tell them"
"Yeah Seiya tell us!" said Minako
"tell us!" said Usagi
"As the Senshi of love I demand it!" said Minako
"Demand it!" repeated Usagi
Seiya stood silent and glared at Yaten.
"Come on Seiya, tell the story about the one girl who capture poor, young, Fighter's heart" Yaten insisted.
Suddenly Makoto, Minako, Usagi, and Rei began to surround Seiya. "Tell us!" "We love romance stories" "PLEASEEEEEEEEE" and after about 30 second Seiya let out a sigh.
"alright alright! I'll have you know this not a love story-"
"yes it is!"
"Shut up Yaten!"
"Like I was saying this is not a love story-"
"-Hmph. Of course it's not. If you're involved there's no surprise there." Seiya was once again interrupted. This time though it was by the lovely Haruka. Seiya just rolled his eyes.
"Haruka. Be nice. I would like to hear what Seiya has to tell" Michiru was kind enough to step in on that one before things escalated. It's not that Haruka and Seiya hated each other per say. there was just a genuine dislike there. And over the span of three years everyone sort of looked at it as their own signs of endearment.
"Like I was saying before being so rudely interrupted… This is not a love story. There's no happy ending. For god sake I don't even know where she is anymore. That being said if you still want to hear it I'll tell you the story of our comrade." 'My comrade.' "The way you know the lights now are the way we were reborned at the beginning of the twentieth century. But back in Silver Millenium times there were four. Me, Maker, Healer, and Runner. Her name was sailor star-runner and she was the captain of the starlights"
Suddenly it went dark.
