Eyes flashing open,

Breath heavy.

Alone.

Again.

One destination, and many

Hundreds of threats

Along the way.

Finally,

Home.

Or at least, I think this is home.

I've never been.

Home is always moving,

With the smooth purr

Of an engine.

Never grounded.

For once, there're smiles.

Laughter, even.

Food, the flavors

Exploding across his tongue.

How could I have missed out on all this?

A sadness to his eyes.

I don't understand.

There is a strange wrench in my chest.

My heart?

"You can't stay."

I shatter.

I don't – I…

Lost.

Again.
