Picking Up the Pieces

The New Love.

No one could save her.

Yeah she had friends, but they were all worried about Jimmy right now. Not that she wasn't, she just had her own problems to deal with.

She didn't have a boyfriend to help her anymore.

Actually she was never good with relationships.

The first boy was gay and then she finally thought she fell in love, but he had problems she just couldn't help him with.

Her past was coming back to haunt her.

Her world was crashing down around her.

And yet, all she could think about was him.

She knew she probably shouldn't though.

Her best friend loved him and he was one of her kind of still boyfriend's best friends.

Why was life so complicated.

She just needed someone to save her.

SO maybe she wanted him to be the one to do so.

A girl can dream right?

Here she was, riding in a car, right next to him. She could hear him breathing heavily.

The blonde girl in the backseat was staring out the window. Just like she. Both of them feeling similar emotions.

Only the blonde was one of her best friends and in love with her sort of kind of boyfriend who just left.

What a crazy world we live in.

The boy driving stops in front of a gas station and says,

"Ellie, Emma, do you guys want anything in the store."

"No thanks" they both reply sadly.

He thinks they are both said about the other boy, so he pats the redhead on the shoulder and says "Everything will be okay."

Bull.

Nothing will be okay. It will never be the same. Not once has anything been okay in her life.

A few minutes he comes back to the car and starts to drive more. The blonde is crying and the other one is staring out the window again.

If only he loved me, she thought.

Tears rolled down her cheeks, thinking about everything just made her so confused.

She wasn't supposed to like the boy right next to her. She's supposed to be with the boy she left behind, who abandoned her.

She was hit with a mix of emotions, and somehow she knew the ride home was going to be a very, very long one.
