One-Shot (Jasper)

"Jason…" Piper asked hesitantly.

"It'll be OK pipes, tried and tested" Jason said, ushering her into the Ferris wheel basket…cart-thing.

Piper paused and studied Jason for a second, her boyfriend was smiling down at her, his electric blue eyes sparkling. "Let me guess…you tried and tested it with ah ...Percy?" She asked, her amusement was evident, Jason grinned, "He's my bro pipes, plus it was easy to convince him". "Hmph" Piper muttered.

Piper got into the basket and buckled herself up, she saw Jason looking at her incredulously. She beckoned him to get in. "what now?" She asked, "Got second thoughts?"

"Um…pipes? , that's not our cart" Jason said.

Confused Piper whipped her head around to see a brown haired guy smirking at her, immediately she felt annoyed. Turning her head back, she spoke to Jason, "okay then, I'm coming out" She fumbled with her belt, suddenly the cart rocked and swayed as it lurched upwards.

'Great' thought Piper sarcastically, 'my boyfriend is left down below me and I'm stuck with this…person, on my date. I love my life'

The Ferris wheel stopped the moment their cart was at the top, the lights dimmed around the carnival, making it difficult to see. 'Interesting' Piper thought. I'm stuck up here at the top of fifty meter tall Ferris wheel with a complete stranger, whereas my son of Zeus-sorry-Jupiter of a boyfriend is far beyond her reach, well of course he could fly-' Her thoughts were interrupted when the not-so-mortal guy beside her started to glow gold and unhinged his jaw till if fell on his lap. 'Gross' mused the daughter of Aphrodite, 'monsters these days have no self-respect

"Piper Mclean, daughter of Aphrodite" rasped the monster, "You are away from the safe hands of the son of Jupiter, you lie in my tra-" the monster began to cough and held up its index finger , it thumped its chest a little then continued, " my trap, my claws shall avenge the earth mothe-" he began to cough again, piper motioned him to take his time, no monster should go to Tartarus before finishing it's monologue.

Awkwardly settling its jaw again, the monster began to cackle, "uhm, Earth mother shall avenge my claws, no uh, my claws shall avenge the earth mother piper Mclean!"

"I'm the earth mother?" piper asked

"Gah ! No! I mean Gaia! I shall avenge Gaia!" The monster insisted. Piper shrugged, "OK, fine by me, although you know I'd make pretty goo-"

"Silence! Enough talk! My VENGENCE!" just as he said it, his fingers elongated into claws, fur blossomed like flowers in spring on his skin and so…he basically resembled a retarded hybrid bear-monkey. Piper sighed, "I had hope in you Alfred, but well if things must come to this I should tell you something" "I am not Piper Mclean"

The monster was confused, "but Kelli told me that-"and with those heroic last words, Alfred the bear-monkey burst into gold dust.

Piper sheathed Katropis and relaxed into her seat, a few minutes later the electricity came back on and the Ferris wheel gradually spun lower.

As Piper came out of the cart, she was engulfed in a warm hug. "You ok pipes? I saw-"Jason began. "It's okay Jason, I handled it"

"but-"

"And besides, one thing is clear"

"What?"

"That you and Percy have the most horrible ideas, I mean really? I would jump out of the Ferris wheel cart and you would whisk me away to gods knows where"

"But it would have worked out-"Jason tried to explain, Piper leaned up and silenced him with a kiss, she pulled away and smirked, "Nice try sparky"
