Am I the only one who was extremely annoyed at the fact the Eragon and Arya never kissed? I mean, what the heck! So therefore, I added my own rendition of the end of Inheritance. Here it is, enjoy, and give feedback, Please? Beggin' you here. :D
On the beach, Roran stood alone, watching them go. Then he threw back his head and uttered a long, aching cry, and the night echoed with the sound of his loss.
For several minutes, Eragon stood next to Arya, and neither spoke as they watched the first curve in the river approach. At last, Eragon turned to her, and she grabbed ahold of her cowl and tossed it back, and stared deep into his eyes.
"Arya…" Eragon said, but Arya silenced him quickly with a single motion that shocked Eragon beyond belief: She put her hands on his shoulders, leaned forward, and laid her lips on his, kissing him gently, and yet, intimately. They stood there for several seconds, the seconds turning to minutes, until finally Arya pulled away, but only a little. She whispered his name, his name of all names, so that only he could hear, and said, in her native language a simple phrase, poetic, that held enormous meaning to Eragon, so much that when she said it, his heart blossomed with joy and sadness, and tears clouded his vision.
"Forever and eternally, to the ends of time and back, I am yours, as I always have been, and always will be."
And once more they embraced each other in their lover's embrace, only pausing to whisper each other's true names. And then just as quickly as it started, Arya pulled her head away and stepped back.
"Farewell, Eragon Hjarta-abr-iet-Hjarta." Farewell, Eragon Heart of my Heart.
From here the story continues as normal. I this would be good enough. Enjoy, and hit that review button!
