He had known it was coming.
The whole school had known.
But it still hurt so badly.
He couldn't blame anyone of course. Kurt was special, anyone could see that, and everyone knew that sparks had flown between Blaine and Kurt practically within the first 25 seconds of meeting. They were both out about being gay, feminine to different degrees and loved a lot of the same things so it would make sense sooner or later that they would end up in a relationship. It was only a matter of time really
But still, the way he found out had hurt him very badly.
No one knew his feelings of course, he had been good about keeping them in.
But he had wanted to talk to Blaine about history homework and had heard Blaine's and Kurt's voices coming from one of the lounges. He figured he'd just wait until Blaine was done talking to Kurt and then politely step in and ask to borrow him for a moment.
Then he heard it.
"Kurt…there is a moment when you say…'Oh there you are. I've been looking for you forever'..watching you do Blackbird this week . That was a moment for me…about you."
There was a pause and it felt like icicles were being stabbed in his hear, lungs and stomach. But he couldn't move.
"You moved me Kurt. And this duet would just be an excuse to spend more time with you"
He couldn't breathe but finally managed to move close to the door and had to hold back a sob.
Kurt and Blaine were kissing.
They were kissing.
He was running back to his room before he realized he was moving.
He didn't realize he was crying until he was fumbling with his doorknob.
"David?" He looked up to see Wes and Thad sitting on Wes's bed with their homework. Oh right, they studied together and this was the day they used Wes's (And David's ) room.
"David what is it?" Thad asked as he stumbled over to his own bed.
"Kurt and Blaine kissed. Their an item now." He whispered.
There was silence, all three of them had liked Blaine for a long time.
That's why they had taught him how to be proper warbler and helped him become the person he was today.
That and his voice was the reason He got all the solos.
Thad came over and hugged him, Wes followed and in a few minutes they were just holding each other on David's bed, Lost in their own though while two floors down the boy they all Loved was kissing the boy he had come to realized he loved.
He had known it was coming.
The whole school had known it was coming.
It was only a matter of time really
But it still hurt.
It hurt and more then that it just wasn't fair.
