What I, Jean Descolr, have learnt from my many years of research, is that Layton's eyes are not what they seem. Although they are like magnificent diamonds of black oil, there is much more to the story than that.
See, Hershel's eyes are like luscious lumps of coal. As he ages, his skull is going to gradually tighten around his eyes, and the temperature inside his skull will increase with this. This will make his eyes turn into beautiful, bright, diamonds. These will be the most beautiful eyes of all, I will find myself staring into them lovingly and contemplating my life as a whole. I will find the meaning of life in these eyes, as well as every possible answer to every single question ever asked throughout time. I will see every word ever formed by humans, the entire universe will be seen in these eyes. I will write answers with one hand, and take this chip and eat it. Then, after it is all said and done, I will claw out his eyes and store them in special cases for viewing in The Monte D'or Ledore Memorial Hospital. Which I will make a fortune selling these to them.
