"Another win for my GekiTouja!" Bae watched on with pride as Shafu's students delivered the final blow to Mele's underling. They were young, but their skill had yet to be matched. In fact, he was so impressed it took him a moment to realize Mele was... very quiet. That was new.
But to be fair to Mele, her behavior after battles tended to vary. Sometimes she would take her frustration over yet another loss by chasing after him, sometimes she'd talk to herself (and forget he existed), sometimes she would actually let him perch on her shoulder as she told him of her next plot to destroy the Geki Juu Ken school. Each time, her reaction was different... but today she wasn't reacting at all.
He'd probably regret it, but surely it couldn't hurt to just ask. "Are you all right, Mele-san?"
... Was Mele smiling at him? "Bae," she murmured as she changed into her Rinrishi form, voice oozing with false sweetness. "Give me a kiss."
How Mele reacted to her losses in battle varied. However, what happened to Bae was always the same.
