Castiel, an Angel of the Lord, on Peanut Butter and Jelly
I do not need to eat since I do not need sustenance. Food is mostly a thing that humans need to eat to have energy. My brother, Gabriel, discovered that food tastes good, so he eats sweets like lollipops that he carries around. When I was stripped of my grace, I became human and had to eat. I found out that I like PB&Js. This food is soft but very sticky and sweet, but still hearty with protein. I tried different types of jellies and jams: grape, strawberry, blackberry, black raspberry, and many others. Jelly is like a cloud full of rain but I like jams better. Jams are more flavorful with the tastes of fruit and overly sweet.
I do not know about a lot of human things such as novels that humans like or references to movies. (Well until Metatron got a hold of me.) PB&J's are something I do know about. They are very easy to make. Dean taught me once so I could make him one. I grab the JIF peanut butter, then the grape jelly or blackberry jam, and two pieces of white bread. I slather on the peanut butter on one piece. The scent of peanuts over powers any other aroma. I plop some jelly on the other portion of bread. Sticking the two pieces of bread together, I create my PB&J. Taking that first bite is a rush of sugary deliciousness and creamy peanuts and washing it down with a refreshing glass of milk.
