Bright red lights flashed and an ear-splittingly loud siren wailed in warning. I thought I should wait longer, but I was wrong. Time had run out and now all of these stinking lab freaks were going to try and kill us off. Well let them try all they want! I am a one-girl species that refuses to go extinct quietly.
I zipped through the hallway at a speed so quick and swift, a cheetah would be envious. I checked behind me to make sure that the others were keeping up, and sure enough, they were. They all evaded the scientists feeble attempts at stopping them. One scientist made the mistake of trying to block the way. Honey leaped over him with agility and grace, while Jade just barreled into him, causing him to fall to the ground and get trampled by Marc. I didn't even try to hid my smile.
I looked back ahead and saw a wall at the end of the hallway. They had tried to block the exit, I thought with amusement. As if a simple electrified steel wall could stop us. I rolled my eyes and turned back to the group.
"Marc, we need you." I gestured to the wall and he nodded. Luna, who was asleep in his arms, was given to me to hold. I fell back with the group and Marc rushed ahead of me and did something even a daredevil wouldn't dream of doing. He ran head-first into the wall. At the moment he made contact with it, the electricity was absorbed into him and he blasted a hole through the wall. Haha, how 'bout them apples? I mentally asked the School.
Now that there was a hole in the wall, all four of us, and the two sleeping kids we were holding, leaped out of the hole and into the night. We ran at our amazing speed and successfully covered several miles before coming for a stop. There was no doubt the School would come after us, but we were completely ready for anything and everything they would through at us. Just you wait.
