If You Remember

'Nothing is gone forever,

If you can just remember.'

So what does that mean

If I can barely recall a thing

About you? I know you

Had eyes the color of ocean blue

And you'd laugh at almost everything I said and

Blush when I held your hand

But those memories are fading fast

Nothing was firm enough to last

So as they start to slip away

I hope I'll get them back someday

XXX

All I can do right now is pray

That in my dreams you'll cross my way

And once more again I'll see

Your smile shining brightly at me

XXX

Then the memories will come flooding back

As you fill the void of the heart I lack

Maybe it's just a fantasy

But this is how I want things to be

You can't be gone forever

Although it's faint, I still remember

A few moments we spent, laughs we shared

As you taught me how much I could care.

A/N: The idea for this came from the description/summary of another of my poems, Treasured Memories. Inspiration comes from everywhere it feels like. xP Been writing way too much poetry and not enough of the things I need to actually get around to doing lately.
