AN: A response to Vicky199416's Quotes challenge on the Rose/Scorpius fans forum.
It was at times like this, Rose thought to herself, that she seriously pondered WHY she was best friends with Scorpius Malfoy.
"You want us to go down there?" she asked doubtfully and Scorpius nodded excitedly.
"Of course! It's the Chamber of Secrets and it's going to be SO fascinating to explore!" Scorpius said excitedly. "Think about it, a chance to go and personally explore a major part of our history! Isn't it exciting!"
"Exciting is hardly the word I would use," Rose replied with a look of distaste.
"Think about it Rose, we could be the first people to go down there since your parents went down there!" Scorpius continued excitedly, oblivious to her tone. Rose gave him a withering look.
"Are you sure you haven't been dosing on Confoundus potions?" she asked and Scorpius looked at her in surprise.
"C'mon Rose, where's your sense of adventure?"
"On a beach somewhere with your sanity?" Rose asked in a deadpan voice. "Scorpius, I just can't do this."
"Rose, how many times have I asked you to do something you just couldn't do?"
A thoughtful expression came over Rose's face and Scorpius smiled.
"See, I told yo-"
"Seven times," Rose cut in.
"That many?" Scorpius asked in a surprised voice. "I thought it was only six?"
"Yeah, this makes seven."
"So you'll go then?" he asked with a pleading puppy-eyes look.
"You have absolutely NO sense of fear at all, do you?" Rose asked sarcastically. "Why are you in RAVENCLAW?"
"Rose, what could possibly go wrong?" he asked and Rose looked at him with disbelief.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" Rose countered. "Or have you forgotten what happened when I LAST followed you?"
"How was I supposed to know that the acromantula's were still happy to eat human flesh! It's been YEARS since they were last seen!" Scorpius protested. "Besides, I don't think anything dangerous has lived there since your Uncle killed that basilisk all those years ago."
"Yes, and if I follow you, we'll find something REALLY nasty down there that'll probably try to eat us. Sorry Scorpius, I WON'T do it."
An hour later, when the two seventh years literally washed out of the Chamber by a wall of water and lay gasping at Moaning Myrtle's feet, Rose turned to look at Scorpius and glared.
"Scorpius, WHY do I keep doing this?" she asked. Scorpius shrugged.
"Keep doing what?" he asked curiously.
"Following you into these insane situations!" Rose said exasperatedly. Scorpius sat up and looked into her eyes very closely.
"My winning charm, good looks and personality perhaps?" he suggested dryly and Rose let out a laugh.
"No, I think it's because I've fallen head-over-heels in love with you," she said, before blushing as she realised exactly what she'd said. Scorpius was blushing too, which, even with his hair dripping wet and dishevelled, made him look even cuter, before pulling him into a very deep kiss.
"Are you sure about this?" he asked and Rose smiled.
"Where's your sense of adventure?" she asked.
"On a beach somewhere with your sanity?"
Rose laughed and the two of them stayed there kissing until they were forced out by a very annoyed Moaning Myrtle.
